The Golf Season is arriving and I have been waiting for this

The Golf Season is arriving and I have been waiting for this

There is a specific feeling the first time you step onto the course after winter.

The air is still crisp. The fairways are not perfect yet. Your swing feels slightly unfamiliar.

But none of that matters.

What matters is that you are back.

For me, the start of golf season has never been about chasing a handicap straight away. It is about reconnecting with the game, with nature, and honestly with myself. Golf has always been that reset button in my life. And how I walk the course plays a big role in that.

That is exactly why I believe in the Sunday bag.

Why I Prefer a Sunday Bag

Over the years I have realized something simple. The more I carry, the more complicated the round feels.

Fourteen clubs. Extra gear. Too many decisions.

A Sunday golf bag strips it back. You take the clubs you truly trust. You walk. You think a little more. You feel the course instead of rushing through it.

It changes the rhythm of the round.

When you walk with a lightweight bag over your shoulder, you notice things. The sound under your shoes. The wind direction. The quiet between shots. That is the part of golf that keeps me coming back every season.

Why we built Pine Coast Sunday Bags the way we did

When Lisette and I started Pine Coast, it was not because the world needed another golf bag.

It was because we could not find one that reflected how we experience the game and that we wanted to make a difference in the world for mental health.

We went back to craftsmanship. We found a leather workshop in Białystok, Poland. We chose Italian leather and Scottish waxed canvas. Materials that age beautifully. Materials that feel honest.

A Sunday bag should feel like something you want to carry, not something you have to carry.

And if you are walking eighteen holes, that matters.

Starting the season with intention

Early season rounds are special. They are slower. More reflective. There is less pressure.

That is when I want to walk.

A lightweight Sunday bag makes that choice easy. It reduces fatigue. It simplifies decisions. It forces creativity. If I only carry seven or eight clubs, I have to shape shots. I have to commit.

That is how you sharpen your game.

More importantly, that is how you enjoy it.

Golf, mental clarity and simplicity

One of the reasons Pine Coast exists is because we believe golf supports mental well being. It certainly has for me.

Walking with a minimalist bag is not just practical. It is symbolic. Fewer distractions. Less noise. More presence.

In a world that constantly pushes more, faster and louder, choosing simplicity on the course feels powerful.

A different kind of season

As the new golf season arrives, most players are thinking about distance, new drivers and swing changes.

That is fine.

But I would suggest something else. Think about how you want your rounds to feel.

Do you want to rush or do you want to walk

Do you want more equipment or more connection

For me, the Sunday bag represents the kind of golf I want to play this year. Intentional. Grounded. Rooted in tradition.

If that resonates with you, maybe this is the season you carry differently.

See you on the fairways.
